Two days until my first hair appointment in WAY TOO LONG. These roots are seriously out of control.
Four days until I drive to Baton Rouge, then onto Houston with my parents to visit my sister and her family, and my aunt and cousin. It'll be the last time I get to spend with them in the States for who knows how long, and I'm already sad about leaving them.
Eleven days until Colby finally gets home from his training in Seattle. He'll have been gone for 7 weeks--hardly our longest separation ever, but almost as long as he was gone for his last deployment since he got to come home early!
Twenty one days until the first day that the movers show up. They're scheduled to pack and load over the course of three days, and I can't wait to have it behind us. We have to separate all of our possessions into three categories: Storage, Household Goods (which will arrive in Germany 2 or 3 months later), and Unaccompanied Baggage (900 pounds that will be shipped by air and should arrive within a couple of days--so everything we'd need immediately). Of course, since the house always has to be "show ready", I haven't been able to start separating things out, and I have a feeling it's going to be an incredibly chaotic few days making sure all of the right stuff goes with the right people.
Twenty seven days until we load up our car and leave Charleston behind. It's incredibly bittersweet, and the reality that we're actually leaving has started to really sink in. Yesterday, it was in the upper 70s in Charleston and there was snow falling in Germany. Yikes, never ending winter!
Twenty nine days until we will be residents of Deutschland! And then the adventures will really begin!
